Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles announced their intention to marry on 8th April 2005, in the Grand Reception Room, at Windsor Castle, where they spoke to the press and showed off the engagement ring.
The engagement ring is a royal heirloom which belonged to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. It has a 1920s platinum setting and is composed of a square-cut central diamond, flanked by six diamond baguettes.
